This year’s campaign, created by Marmalade Trust, takes place Monday 13th June – Friday 17th June 2022 and will be highlighting the many and varied instances when we feel lonely to normalise the feeling – from childhood, into adulthood and beyond – with their campaign slogan ‘That Lonely Feeling’.

Loneliness can be difficult to cope with and can start to affect our mental health, making us feel sad, depressed, or giving us feelings of low self-esteem. Sometimes, if we are already struggling with our mental health it can feel difficult for us to interact with our loved ones in the way we usually do. This can then make us feel isolated and lonely when we didn’t feel this way before. But life doesn’t have to be this way; if you’re feeling lonely, there are things you can do to feel better.

By identifying and acknowledging all the times that we have personally felt and experienced loneliness, we can start to change our viewpoint, accept it and understand how to take action to manage the feeling (and our social connections) in the future.

If you or someone you know are struggling with feelings of loneliness, isolation or poor mental health, we might be able to help.

We run regular one to one sessions along with social groups, where we meet up, have some fun and make new connections. If you think we could help you please use the form on our contact us page and we will be in touch.
